Houdt deze rubriek in de gaten om op de hoogte te zijn van het Ferrari-aanbod van alle grote veilinghuizen zoals Bonhams, Brooks, R&M, Coys, Gooding, etc.

Terugblik 2005: Sotheby’s at Ferrari

Op 28 juni 2005 hield veilinghuis Sotheby's de eerste Ferrari-veiling bij de Ferrari-fabriek in Maranello, Italië: “Sotheby’s at Ferrari”. Hoewel er bijzondere Ferrari’s werden aangeboden, er veel bekendheid aan werd gegeven en er een zeer fraaie catalogus werd gemaakt, was de veiling verkooptechnisch gesproken geen succes. Slechts 11 van de 29 Ferrari’s wisselden van eigenaar; 62% werd niet verkocht.

Ook het beoogde topstuk van de veiling, de 330 TRI LM Spider Fantuzzi, s/n 0808, met een verwachte opbrengst van meer dan € 6.000.000, werd niet verkocht. Mogelijke oorzaak van de tegenvallende verkoop betrof het feit dat veel van de aangeboden Ferrari’s al enige tijd te koop werden aangeboden, en de Ferrari’s er op de ‘heilige grond’ in Maranello niet goedkoper van werden; de “buyer’s premium” betrof 18 en 12% van de hamer-prijs.

Wél verkocht werd de 250 GT SWB s/n 2551 GT, tot dan toe eigendom van de begin dit jaar overleden verzamelaar en clublid Robert Noortman. De Short Wheel Base kwam voor € 1,099,000 in handen van een Engelse liefhebber, die er sindsdien actief mee deelneemt aan (o.a.) de Tour Auto.

2007: Ferrari – Leggenda e Passione

Op 20 mei 2007 vindt er wederom een Ferrari-veiling plaats op de ‘heilige grond’ in Maranello. Dit keer organiseert veilinghuis RM Auctions in samenwerking met Sotheby’s de veiling bij de Ferrari-fabriek: "Ferrari – Leggenda e Passione".

O.a. de volgende Ferraris zullen ter veiling worden aangeboden:

s/n 1006, 512 S

Entered by Luigi Chinetti’s N.A.R.T. (North American Racing Team) at Sebring twice, Buenos Aires and Le Mans as well as two CanAms, chassis 1006 also finished an admirable second overall in the 1971 24-Hours of Daytona. Race marque experts have called this 512S “one of the most original and unmolested examples to exist

s/n 9803, 275 GTB/4

Chassis 9803, is a true time warp car. With only two owners from new it remains one of the most original 275 GTB/4’s we have ever seen. This is truly a fine example of the definitive front engine, 12 cylinder, four-cam road going Ferrari.

s/n 175, F310B Formula One

One of the most important of all the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 race cars is chassis number 175, the ex-Michael Schumacher, Monaco and Spa winning example. Fabulously presented and recently track tested, this historic example has been part of two important U.S. collections since its retirement and offered for sale for the first time in many years.

s/n 008, Dino 206 SP

The 1966 Ferrari Dino 206 SP, chassis no. 008, retains its original engine, gearbox and bodywork and has been restored mechanically and cosmetically to the highest degree. Its history includes ownership and entries by both SEFAC Ferrari and NART, as well as an impressive roster of drivers from the greatest age of sports car and sports prototype racing: Bondurant, Vaccarella, Pedro Rodriguez, Ginther, Kolb, Follmer, Schlesser, Gregory and even Peter Gregg.

s/n 146728, 599 GTB (ex-Ferrari Factory Pan American Tour)

This specially-liveried 599 GTB Fiorano, finished in Tour de France blue, crossed the American Continent on the footsteps of the Aztecs, Inca, Maya and Native Americans as part of Ferrari’s launch of the most powerful 12-cylinder front engine berlinetta’s ever produced. Heavily featured in the 2006 Ferrari Yearbook, this historically important 599 GTB Fiorano will be a true collectors' piece in years to come.

s/n 0268 AM, 340 MM Touring Spyder

One of two Touring Spyders, the only remaining with original bodywork. Debut as factory team entrant in 1953 Mille Miglia, took First at Montlhery. Cunningham Museum and Pebble Beach Concours (2005).

s/n 2426, 430 GT

Chassis no 2426 is the 2006 FIA GT2 World Championship winning car. Driven by Jaime Melo, Matteo Bobbi, and Tony Wilander to 7 podium finishes during the 2006 season, including two first places the F430GT presented here is fully serviced and on the button. Chassis 2426 is a competitive car and a potential front runner in the FIA 2007 GT2 World Championship and a potential 2007 Le Mans 24 Heures entry.
